My Philosophy
At Simon Custom Guitars, I craft 6 and 12 string acoustic guitars using only the best personally selected tone woods available, taking the time to find the perfect balance between appearance and tonal qualities. Even the wood used for bracing, kerfing and binding is carefully chosen.
Every guitar I build is unique in some way. From the bracing shapes and pattern to top thickness, each is customized in order to meet your tonal requirements. I will take the time necessary to understand what you're looking for in the guitar, and pay close attention to every detail throughout the entire building process.
I craft each acoustic 6 or 12 string guitar by hand. I do all of my own inlay and finish work. I currently use only nitrocellulose finishes, as I love the the way lacquer enhances the beauty of the wood.
Those who own or have played my 12 string guitars are astounded at how they feel and sound. Some say they are more comfortable and even easier to play than some 6 string electrics!
I am currently taking a limited number of custom acoustic guitar orders for the rest of 2008.
